Basketry

I love baskets as many do and they are popular motifs in rug hooking patterns. Here is a soft warm golden brown for your baskets. The baskets I use in my booth were made by my partner Bruce. Done in the traditional method, he cut the Black Ash tree, removed the bark by hand and "pounded" the log for the splints. The handles are hand carved from hickory. A labor-intensive craft for beautiful utilitarian pieces. I wanted this color to reflect an aged basket with a warm glow to showcase the beauty of an ancient craft.
